An accomplished photographer and videographer with several years of professional camera work in divers settings. She has worked with all the major U.S. television networks, and covered classic world events such as the annual United Nations General Assembly from 2000 to 2012, the U.S. Republican and Democratic National Conventions (every four years), and the Summer Olympics in Atlanta, GA (1996). She enjoys shooting sports events and has served as TV camera operator for the LPGA, the NFL, the Atlanta Braves baseball, the Goodwill Games, annual Brazilian Capoeira competitions, and the U.S. Open tennis tournament.
Nyla has a gifted eye for catching the perfect shot, and continues to use her creativity to master new and evolving technology, while retaining a nostalgic love of watching her old-fashioned black and white film develop slowly in her darkroom closet. Her favorite still subjects are people and landscape scenes, and she loves to catch the candid shot. She has had the privilege of working in various media settings, such as magazine, daily press and television news. Nyla enjoys tackling short subjects and making documentaries.
Nyla’s passions are shooting any kind of pictures, playing tennis, playing backgammon and cycling. A graduate of University of Rochester, she is a native of Trinidad and Tobago, the third of 4 children and has been a member of the Professional Women Photographers while living in the New York/New Jersey.
